Welcome New Board Member: Torrey Zimmerman
Name: Torrey Zimmerman
Spouse’s Name: Clare Zimmerman
Church Affiliation: Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church
Family Information: I’ve been married for 26 years to my wife, Clare. And we have been blessed with three amazing children!
Employment Information: Vice President of Operations, The Wasmer Company
Church/School Activities you are or have been involved with: I’ve served within Church worship ministry, Technical Media (sound, lighting, video, etc.), as an Elder, church board member, Men’s Ministry leadership, Small Group Ministry Leadership Team member, Small Group leader, and as an associate pastor in churches in Alaska and Minnesota. In my most recent, past employment, I worked extensively to help families, school staff and education team members, to come together to find the best ways to meet the educational and developmental needs of special education students.
What do you like most about SCS? SCS partners with parents in forming our children’s learning around a biblical, Christian worldview.
Why did your family choose SCS over other schools? SCS supports a biblical worldview, anchoring our son’s education in the beliefs and values we believe are most important. And SCS encourages our son to live out his faith in every aspect of life.
What do you think is the most important goal for SCS? I believe the school’s most important goal must be to equip and release world-changers—students who are prepared academically, spiritually, and socially to lead by faith wherever the Lord takes them.
If you could do one thing to increase SCS’ visibility in the community, what would it be? I would increase intentional service and partnerships with like-minded organizations outside of the school, to encourage unity without compromise, and to show God’s love to the community around SCS.
Why did you accept the nomination to serve our community on the School Board? Board service is an opportunity to give back. I simply want to use the gifts and abilities God has given me to serve Him, and to serve others.
