Performance Arts

Drama

Students will develop their God-given creative abilities as they reflect him by striving for excellence and glorifying God.

The Sheboygan Christian School high school drama department exists to glorify God in the area of theater.  We seek to provide theater performances that challenge the students to grow in presentation, technical support, and stage crew skills.  Each of our two performances per year offer safe, worthwhile family entertainment and, above all, give glory to God! Productions have included Anne of Green Gables, You Can’t Take It With You, The Butler Did It, Assist (an original work), and the musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Forensics

Our Fine Arts Vision

Students will develop their God-given creative abilities as they reflect him by striving for excellence and glorifying God.

The Sheboygan Christian School Forensics’ team provides an excellent opportunity to gain confidence in public speaking, make new friendships (both at our own high school and with students from other schools), and compete individually while still being part of a team.

Romans 10:14 reminds us “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” We are called to be light and salt in a very dark world. Forensics gives a platform where we can witness not only through our content but also through our actions and responses in a highly competitive environment.

Our Legacy

Under the leadership of Mrs. Meyer since 2015, the team has sent students to the State level each year. Our students are strong and competitive. This past year we had a team that took home the first place trophy every weekend they competed and then placed sixth at the State level.

Specifics

Practices begin in January and competition begins in late January/early February and continues through March. Those who qualify will compete at a State level competition in April.

Competitions take place on Saturdays at high schools throughout eastern Wisconsin.

Students can compete at as many or as few meets as they choose.

There are nineteen categories ranging from original speech to storytelling to Play Acting. Three of the categories require a group of two to five people so students have the option of competing with friends.

Excellence in competition and a strong witness for Christ are the top goals we seek to accomplish through Forensics.
