The athletic program at Sheboygan Christian gives students the opportunity to develop their God-given interests and talents while competing in interscholastic sporting events. Athletics seeks to support the goal of developing the total child.
The SCS athletic program is an important platform used to teach the gospel and positively impact our students, both during after their high school years. The hours spent each week practicing and competing are used to encourage and equip students for lifelong Kingdom service. SCS athletes learn to persevere, to lose with grace and to win with humility.
5 Principles We Play By
1. Glorify God
All our play seeks to praise our Heavenly Father “…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify you Father in heaven.” Matthew 6:16
2. Demonstrate Christian Character
All we do strives to reflect who we are as God’s children. “You are my witnesses, “ declares the Lord, “that I am God.” Isaiah 43:12“…so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord…bearing fruit…growing in the knowledge of God…” Colossians 1:10
3. Persevere Daily
The athlete will work diligently, committed to each practice and game “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” Colossians 3:23“…let us throw off everything that hinders…and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…” Hebrews 12:1
4. Build Unity
In all realms of athletic performance, the team comes first. “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…” 1 Thessalonians 5:11“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10
5. Strive for Excellence
All practice and play will work toward participation at the highest level. “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me…” Philippians 3:14
