Church/School Activities you are or have been involved with: I served as a deacon at Calvin for a 3 year term from 2021 through the end of 2023. The last two years of my term I served as deacon chair. I will be presenting at the Career Corner at SCS in April.
What do you like most about SCS? The devotion and dedication to teach our children through a Biblically grounded worldview.
Why did your family choose SCS over other schools? Allison and I chose to send our children to SCS because we believe SCS best supports our goals as parents to raise our children on a Christ centered foundation. In addition to the assurance that their education will be taught through a Christian worldview, we are also attracted to the high standards of education and extracurricular opportunities this Christian community provides.
What do you think is the most important goal for SCS? To provide Christ centered, high quality education, preparing students to be God fearing servants in the community.
Reflecting on my own experiences as a student, I believe it is critical to cultivate students to become ingrained within the community at large (neighborhood, church, city, state, workplaces), bearing witness to God’s goodness outside of the immediate confines of the SCS community
If you could do one thing to increase SCS’ visibility in the community, what would it be? Use the talents and resources of the SCS community to serve the broader Sheboygan community in areas of need through servant leadership. I know this is being done already, but I think it’s a fantastic way to live out many of our values, teach our children, and serve our community.
Why did you accept the nomination to serve our community on the School Board? My children are 5th generation students at SCS. Through the generations, God has shown his faithfulness to my family through the community that is SCS. SCS has played a massive role in developing me as a Christian, professional, and citizen. While I am grateful and owe much credit to the SCS community for developing me into who I am, I also bring the experience of entering the “real world” after attending a Christian school from kindergarten through college. I believe that my experiences as an alumnus, parent, and professional will provide a valuable perspective to the board and future direction of SCS. I am excited for the prospect of serving in this capacity.
