What do you love about Sheboygan Christian School?
I love SCS because it provides a safe environment for our children to continue to develop a biblical worldview as they grow, not only academically, but spiritually. I love that the teachers have a fervent desire to serve the Lord and encourage our kids unto godliness on a daily basis. It’s great to be a part of a small school where the teachers know their students personally and go above and beyond to help them succeed.
Why did you choose Sheboygan Christian School for your children?
We chose to send our kids to SCS because we wanted them to be in a biblically solid school that could continue to shape and prepare them to give a defense for their faith in a culture and world that is broken. SCS is a great extension of our home and encourages our kids to be conformed more and more to the image of Christ.
In what ways have you seen your children grow in their faith as a result of their experience at SCS?
I would have to say that having a daughter graduate last year, I was extremely thankful for the preparation she received in her doctrine/ethics and apologetics classes. She grew in her understanding of our world and how to defend her faith biblically. I was also very thankful for the opportunities she was given to serve outside her own community and church, to see how God is working in other parts of the country. Her faith was definitely strengthened through these experiences. I also love the way SCS encourages our kids to live out their faith daily. It is so much more than just a “religion” class.
In what ways have you seen your children grow academically as a result of their experience at SCS?
I have appreciated the opportunity SCS has given our high schoolers to be a part of college and AP classes, giving them a head start on their college education. I’m also very thankful for the opportunities for leadership and service. The teachers at SCS have challenged my kids to strive for excellence in whatever classes they may be taking, and encouraged them beyond what abilities they thought they had.
One of our key values is partnership. How does SCS partner with your family to raise and educate your children?
SCS is a big family! I strongly believe that the administration and staff at SCS truly love the kids and strive for excellence in executing their calling to educate our children. They partner well with families in becoming an extension of our home, reinforcing the values and Christ-centered teaching we as parents started from birth. The administration and staff do a great job thoughtfully listening and communicating with families.
What sets SCS apart from other schools?
The people! SCS is a special community to be a part of. The families, administration, teachers, and staff are what make it great. We have been truly blessed with an administration and teachers that care personally for the students, and not just on an academic level, but also a genuine concern for their hearts. They want these kids to know Christ and shine brightly in a crooked and perverse generation.
What would you say to a prospective family considering enrollment at Sheboygan Christian School?
SCS is a wonderful community to be a part of! I would encourage them to give it a try and talk to families involved in the school. Meet some of the teachers and you will quickly see a passion for Christ-centered education. You will be giving your child a foundation that will stand, and that is well worth the cost.
