At SCS our kids are provided with a solid foundational education based on Biblical values and outreach. There is a huge partnership between school, family and church and we trust the things our kids are learning and being taught daily.

Our hands-on, play-based classes offer small groups and caring teachers who support each child’s growth in a safe, Christ-centered environment. We provide flexible half-day schedules and before- and after-school care to fit busy family needs. Learn more about our Preschool program and how we nurture your child’s development.

  • What age does my child need to be to start Kindergarten?

If applying mid-year, a current report card may be requested. For more details on our Kindergarten program and admissions, feel free to explore our elementary school information and application process.

  • Can we schedule a shadow day so our child can visit the school?
    Elementary SchoolMiddle SchoolHigh School Admissions

We welcome students in grades 1–12 to spend a half or full day shadowing a current student to experience daily life at our school. Shadow days are available for Elementary, Middle, and High School students, typically on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including lunch. To schedule, please submit a shadow request with your preferred date at least one week in advance so we can prepare a great visit. For middle and high school students, your child will be paired with a student guide to help make the day meaningful and fun. Learn more and book a shadow day here.

  • What grade levels does the school serve, and what ages can apply?
    Admissions

Sheboygan Christian School serves students from 3K (3-year-old kindergarten) through 12th grade, welcoming children at every stage from preschool to high school. Families can apply starting with our youngest learners in 3K, progressing through elementary (K-5), middle school (6-8), and high school (9-12). Each stage offers tailored learning and community support to help your child thrive. To learn more about applying or specific grade availability, visit our enrollment process and apply for enrollment pages.

  • Is there an admissions deadline, and what if we miss it?
    Admissions

Admissions at Sheboygan Christian School open October 1 each year for the next school year. Early decision enrollment runs from October 1 through December 31, with priority consideration given to siblings of current students, staff children, and graduating 8th graders from Oostburg Christian School. Since seats fill quickly and some grades may reach capacity, families are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

If you apply after the early decision period or if your child’s grade is full, you may still submit an application to be placed in a waitpool. Enrollment decisions may be deferred when seats are limited, and acceptance is not guaranteed, but families will be notified if a spot becomes available.

Learn more about the enrollment process and current availability to plan your next steps.

  • What paperwork or documents do we need to apply?
    Admissions

To apply, please complete our online application and submit grade-appropriate documents:
Preschool (3K, 4K, K): No extra paperwork unless applying mid-year for Kindergarten, then provide the latest report card.
Grades 1–12: Submit last year’s and current report cards.
Home School: Include report cards, a list of recent courses, and a Home School Assessment completed by SCS.
Special Education: Provide the most recent IEP or 504 Plan if applicable.

In addition, each family is asked to submit one Pastor’s Recommendation Form and for parents to complete a form acknowledging their agreement with the school’s Statement of Foundational Beliefs.

After applying, schedule a meeting and bring a certified birth certificate and immunization records. Learn more about the full process here.

  • Do new students need to take a placement test or academic evaluation?
    Elementary SchoolMiddle SchoolHigh School Admissions

In most cases, new students do not need to take a placement test or academic evaluation as part of the admissions process. Admissions decisions are typically based on a review of prior school records, such as report cards and transcripts, along with family meetings and application materials.

Students coming from a home school environment may be asked to complete an academic assessment to help ensure appropriate grade-level placement. In addition, the administrative team may request further assessments for any applicant if more information is needed to support a smooth academic transition, though this is not required in every case. Our goal is always to place students where they can thrive academically and feel confident as they begin at Sheboygan Christian School.

  • When will we hear if our student is accepted?
    Admissions

Once we have your completed application, campus visit, and all necessary documents, our enrollment team shares your file with school administration for review. This process usually takes up to 2 weeks but may take longer if your child’s grade has many applicants. Some decisions may be deferred due to high interest or limited seats. You will be contacted as soon as a decision is made, and you’re welcome to check in anytime. Learn more about the enrollment process and current availability to plan your next steps.

  • Do siblings of current students get priority in admissions?
    Admissions

Siblings of current students do receive priority in admissions at Sheboygan Christian School. Each year starting in mid-September, siblings of enrolled students, children of staff, and local 8th grade graduates have early access to apply before open enrollment begins October 1. If a grade is full, accepted siblings are placed in a waitpool with priority over new applicants. This helps keep families connected and supports a strong community. For more details on enrollment timing and priority, please visit our enrollment process.

  • What academic or behavior standards should new students meet?
    Admissions

New students at Sheboygan Christian School are expected to meet both academic and behavior standards that reflect our Christ-centered community. Academically, students should demonstrate a strong work ethic, respect, and perseverance, aiming to achieve their best potential while developing good study habits. Behaviorally, we look for students who:

    • Reflect Christ in words and actions
    • Show honesty, integrity, and respect for others
    • Cooperate with school policies and respond well to guidance
    • Exhibit positive qualities like friendliness and responsibility

For middle and high school, maintaining academic progress and leadership qualities is important. Families can learn more about our new student onboarding process and academic expectations.

  • Who may enroll their children at SCS?
    Admissions

Enrollment is open to children of all faiths regardless of race, color, or national origin, whose parents accept, as the foundation of their child’s instruction, the Basis and Principles of Article III of our School’s Constitution which states the following:

The basis of the Sheboygan Christian School Association is the infallible and inspired Word of God, the Holy Bible, interpreted according to the Reformed Standards. (The Belgic Confession, The Heidelberg Catechism, and The Canons of Dort.) It is not an ecclesiastic organization. The government of the “Sheboygan Christian School Association” shall be autonomous. It is based upon the three-fold office of the believer — Prophet, Priest, and King.

  • Do I have to attend church to send my child to your school?
    Admissions

We do ask parents to attend church. Parents are also required to sign a statement of belief.

Church attendance as a family is a key part of raising a child. A Christian school can also be another key component. When students are raised in a Christian home, attend a Christian school and attend a Bible believing church, the child is going to receive a solid foundation for life.

  • Does your school offer financial aid?
    Admissions

Yes, our school awards grants to families based on family need and the amount of funds available in the scholarship fund. Our school also participates in the WI Parental Choice Program. Please click here for more information about tuition and aid.

  • How do you decide who gets financial aid?
    Admissions

A family is required to apply to a school selected third party company. That company then generates a report and sends it back to the school, identifying the families that need the most financial aid. Based on the amount of available funds, the school’s Finance Committee does its best to equitably distribute grants.
