What’s in a logo?
Like everything else that we do at Sheboygan Christian School, our logo is unique, and distinctively Christian. You’re going to see this logo everyone around our school community, so you might as well become acquainted with it! Here’s a quick tour of our visual identity that summarizes who we are, what we do, and how we do it:
Our Shield represents support and protection. Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.” It is our fervent prayer that every SCS student takes on the Lord as their personal shield- and that they place all of their trust in Him alone.
We’re proud to be the Eagles. Taken from Isaiah 40:31- “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Our mascot is an eagle, representing our hope in the Lord as our strength and our drive to soar. We love to cheer for our eagles in any of our athletic contests!
The Big “S”/Sheboygan
S stands for Sheboygan. We are proud of our founding and our campus in beautiful Sheboygan, WI. We serve families of students in grades P-12 on our unified campus at 929 Greenfield, Ave. While we’re located in Sheboygan, we serve families from anywhere in Sheboygan County and even beyond!
Our middle name! Sheboygan CHRISTIAN School. “Christian” is our middle name because Jesus Christ is at the center of everything that we do. One of the things that makes our school unique is that we integrate our Christian faith into every class, extra-curricular, and anything else that we do. We’re not “A public school with a religion class tacked on.” We’re a distinctively Christian school that seeks to develop a biblical worldview in every student that passes through our halls. Our goal at the end of all of this is a graduate that is a Christian leader of vision and influence who is prepared, both heart and mind, for service in God’s kingdom.
We’re an inclusive learning community. Our teachers are lifelong learners who have a love of the Lord, a love of their students, and a love of their subject matter. We seek to meet students where they are at academically and find a developmentally appropriate learning plan for every student at SCS. We want to ensure that every student will not only “survive” their formative educational years- we want our students to thrive!
Our school was founded in 1898- we’re one of the oldest Christian schools in the state of Wisconsin! A group of visionary immigrants came to Sheboygan and started a school to educate their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. While we are proud of our history and tradition, we never rest on our laurels. We are always looking for innovative ways and best practice to ensure that our student body is getting the best education possible. Today, our school community is more diverse than at any point in our history. We welcome this diversity while standing firm in our mission, vision and core values, which haven’t changed in over 120 years!
