What do you like most about SCS? I appreciate that there are opportunities for students to excel in a small community, offering a wide variety of ways for students to succeed and to be who God created them to be. Students lead and use their gifts in many capacities as they grow in their spiritual, social, and emotional learning amidst teachers who care.
Why did your family choose SCS over other schools? We like the small school atmosphere, but above all, the opportunity to learn more about our Savior Jesus Christ while relating their learning to our world. The teachers care about helping students be successful as well as learning to think analytically in preparation for their lives outside of SCS in the future.
What do you think is the most important goal for SCS? The most important goal for SCS should above all be to give students a strong biblical education, rooted in the truth of God’s word while giving experiences and teaching thinking skills to see how biblical truths play out in the world in which we live.
If you could do one thing to increase SCS’ visibility in the community, what would it be? It sounds silly, but seeing signs around the community in people’s yards I believe creates a base which people don’t realize. Then when they see and hear other people mention SCS it helps build familiarity and relationship with the school. The more touches the better!
Why did you accept the nomination to serve our community on the School Board? I love the school, the administration, and the students. I have been impressed with the systems in place overall. I haven’t gotten too well acquainted with things going on in the background, but if I can be of help on any level, I will do my best to serve in this capacity.
