New Year, New Students, New Teachers, New Middle School, Same Mission!
Sheboygan Christian School kicked off its 124th school year in grand fashion. Over 500 students from grades 3K to 12th grade make up our school community this year! We’ve hired 18 new staff members to keep up with the school growth, and we were so proud to open up our brand new Middle School pod!
Our second year on our beautiful new P-12 campus began with the first day drop off followed by our all-school chapel. Our high school student praise team lead the largest all-school chapel crowd we’ve ever had. Head of School Mrs. Steenwyk introduced our student body to our school’s spiritual theme: “Shine,” based on Philippians 2:14-16a which reads,
Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.
Student body president Amelia DuMez gave an inspiring speech encouraging students to shine their lights for Jesus thanks to the gift of the Holy Spirit living inside us. After worship, the entire school came outside for an all-school photo. After that, it was back to class to learn the schedules, practices, policies, and procedures of our amazing school! High school students kicked off the year with our annual tradition of the student body Terry Andrae beach mixer.
It was a great start to what we pray will be an amazing year of learning and growing in Christian community!

Record Enrollment
It is clear that Sheboygan area families are responding to the mission, vision, and core values that are taught at Sheboygan Christian School. Prospective families have responded to the school’s new project with record interest.
As Sheboygan County’s first ever P-12 Christian School, now in our second year operating on one campus, SCS has experienced massive enrollment growth over the past few years. When Head of School Ann Steenwyk took over the newly unified P-12 school system that was operating on two separate campuses in 2015, total P-12 enrollment was 231 students. That number had grown to 306 students at the start of school fall, 2020. Last fall, SCS enrollment was 417 students. Today, at the start of the 2022-2023 school year, SCS has an enrollment of 510 students! Praise God for this incredible growth.
We are thrilled to have so many new students, families, and teachers join the SCS family! Our school is growing in size, but we’re not straying from our mission. In fact, I believe we’re being more intentional about our God-given mission today than we ever have.”
