Building Expansion Announcement

Dear SCS Community,

We have had an awesome start to the school year.  Something feels different.  God continues to show His faithfulness, and there is renewed energy and excitement about what He is doing right now.  Love for learning and love for God are at high levels at SCS – with all 547 students and 78 faculty and staff members!

As we consider how God has blessed us in the last 125 years what God has for us the next 125 years, we want to share some exciting news.  The SCS Board of Trustees just passed a motion to greenlight plans and fundraising for a “Phase 3” building project to include expansion of the high school, middle school, band room, choir room, kitchen, cafeteria, and parking.  This decision came after over a year of prayer, planning, and discussions.  It was a big decision, weighing both faith in what God is doing through SCS as well as stewardship of those He has put in leadership.  We ask for your daily prayer regarding the fundraising and planning for this project.

Knowing that God will do immeasurably more than we can imagine, we want to share the details of this plan with you.  Please consider attending one of the following information sessions at SCS:

Monday, September 25, 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, October 3, 11:30 a.m.

Please attend these meetings to learn more about the plans, ask questions, and provide feedback.  This information will be important to prepare for the SCS Association vote of affirmation on Thursday, November 9, 7:00 p.m.

125 years ago a group of people believed Christian education was essential for future generations yet unborn.  Over a century later, Christian education has never been more important.  Please join us in protecting and elevating the mission not only for students today but also for students tomorrow.  Stay tuned for more information to come!
