What to Expect for the 2021 One Walk

Celebrating 51 years of faithful footsteps for Christian Education
We are thrilled to gather together for our One Walk for Christian Education on Friday, September 17. The One Walk, to benefit Sheboygan Christian School, has been held annually since 1971, and has raised thousands of dollars to beautify and improve our school while keeping tuition costs competitive. In the early years, students (including some of our grandpas and grandmas) walked from Cedar Grove to SCS—a hike of nearly 20 miles! For the past several years, the One Walk has taken on even more meaning since the approval of both school associations to join campuses and make this school a PreK-12 Christian school. This year, all students will receive Christ centered education from ONE campus on Greenfield Ave! A vision and dream that has been prayed over for years has now become a reality due to the generous support of our community and continued work of God.
The One Walk is a 10 mile (middle-high school) and 3 mile (preK-5th grade) walk where SCS community members walk for Christian education. In advance, students will be seeking donations in support of their efforts. Our generous sponsors help us guarantee that every pledged dollar goes directly to making SCS the very best school we can be!
See below for the schedule and additional details to help you plan ahead for this event! Notice that this year, we will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony before the walk and a community picnic after the walk!

RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

You’re invited to witness and take part in a historical event at SCS. At 12:30pm on September 17, we are hosting a Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony on campus before our One Walk for Christian Education. SCS supporters including grandparents, parents, alumni, students, staff members, administration and community members are invited to attend this important event!
What will the ceremony entail? This ceremony will include dedication messages from the mayor, members of the PreK-12 building team, SCS board members, students, teachers and administration. We would love for you to join us as we sing praises, pray and rejoice together. Take this time to pause, reflect, and remember the Lord’s faithfulness to SCS, His mission at SCS, and how we as a community can serve him in the years to come!
What is another way we can remember this important time in SCS history? On September 17, from 11:00am-12:15pm, we will be taking pictures of guests with the following SCS cornerstones and will mail the pictures afterwards.
Whether you’re entering your first year at SCS, or if you’re enrolling the fifth generation: you’re part of a school community that serves a faithful God! We look forward to seeing you on September 17!
