With A Grateful Heart

SCS Community,

At SCS we have so much to be thankful for, and if we documented it all, our walls would be full of the blessings God has bestowed upon us. We have had opportunities to share our favorites in school this week.

As we go into this week of thanksgiving, I am particularly thankful that SCS’s foundation rests on the Word of God.

“The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matthew 7:25

Jesus tells us to build our lives on the solid foundation of his teachings. It is with this strong bedrock that we will weather the storms of life. Knowing and trusting Christ’s teachings will give us a strong footing when our foundations are tested.

Our students will have moments in their lives when their foundations are tested. We live in a world of competing messages, messages that may shake their identities, tempt their very human being, and question their faith. Now more than ever, our students need to hide God’s word in their hearts. There is no better foundation in life than God’s word.

I’m thankful that God’s word is alive at SCS and a part of daily instruction, chapels, and devotions. Our students are reciting it, singing it, analyzing it, speaking it out loud, and even translating it into Spanish. When you come into our school, you will see it on the walls and hear it spoken in the classrooms. We hope you are hearing it from our students at home and in the community as well.

Thank you, SCS Community, for supporting our work and for prioritizing God’s word as the foundation for our school. Your support helps us to continue to bring God’s word into the lives of our students.

With A Grateful Heart,
