Student Entrepreneurs Partner with Teen MOPS

Some of you may be familiar with the longstanding SCS tradition known as Mr. Navis’s Entrepreneur Project where 4th grade students come up with a product to design, budget for, produce, market, and sell at our very own Entrepreneur Sale. The 2021 edition was a hit (see pictures below) and we are getting excited for the 2022 edition on Tuesday, April 26!

Inspired by Teaching for Transformation, which aims to connect students with real people, real problems and real work, SCS is partnering with Sheboygan Teen MOPS for its 2nd year. Young moms, who want to become entrepreneurs, are learning and working alongside our students to produce handmade products to be sold at their own Pop Up Market. Returning moms from last year are still operating their businesses and now mentoring new young “momtrepreneurs”. The moms have made several visits to the 4th grade classroom to share feedback, product ideas, and commercials.

“We have enjoyed seeing the girls step up and take this project seriously. They are challenging themselves, and trying things they might not have ever tried before.”

– Angie Gordon, Leader at Sheboygan Teen MOPS

Please consider supporting this project by shopping our sales! A portion of the proceeds from our students’ sale will be donated to Sheboygan Teen MOPS to help fund their Entrepreneur Project.
