SCS Christmas Stroll

The Start of a New Tradition

This year, in the midst of Covid-19, some might wonder how our school continued our pursuit of partnership with our current families and community. With the help of many, we established an event that does both… an event we might have never planned if it wasn’t for social distancing requirements… the SCS Christmas Stroll! In this post, you can learn more about this new and exciting tradition we have started with the SCS community.

Families had the opportunity to sign up and register for a Christmas tree to decorate at our Christmas Tree Decorating Contest from 1-3pm on Saturday, December 5. All families got to enjoy a special goodie basket of prepackaged treats and hot drinks. The Salvation Army sent a few representatives to vote on the top 3 trees. The winners received $100 Amazon gift cards!

The community was invited to walk through our Christmas stroll, that was illuminated by luminary bags with candles, 21 Christmas trees, hot drink and prepackaged food stations, as well as the sound of our choir and band students performing Christmas carols.

We invited our guests to bid on the Christmas trees as well. And guess what! Every single tree that was up for bid went home with a new owner, raising over $800 for The Salvation Army.

Did we mention that we requested toys upon entry for Toys for Tots? We received so many toys! The Salvation Army informed us later that we, along with the entire Sheboygan community, helped Toys for Tots have enough toys to gift at least 3 per child in need!!! Praise God!
