Parents’ Club/Fund Raising

All parents of Sheboygan Christian School (SCS) students are members of Parents’ Club. The purpose of Parents’ Club is to promote the welfare of SCS and reduce tuition expenses through fund raising activities. Working on fund raisers is also a great way to meet and get to know other parents and friends of SCS. Parents’ Club is run by its own nine member board, which is responsible to the School Board. At the association meeting each May, three new parents are elected to serve three-year terms.

Each year Parents’ Club makes a monetary pledge to SCS. Fund raisers are how we fulfill this pledge and are an important part of the work of Parents’ Club, which is essential to keeping tuition affordable. Each SCS family must fulfill an annual commitment to work at least ten hours on Apple Pies and eight hours on one other fund raiser. If these minimums are not met, assessments of $600 (apple pies) and $400 (other fund raiser) will be owed, as shown on monthly tuition statements. Working less than required will result in no assessment credit. Parents with only 3K or 4K students need to work three hours on Apple Pies or pay a $50 assessment. If you choose to chair a fund raiser, that project is the only commitment you must fulfill for the school year.

In April fund raising contracts are mailed to all SCS parents giving them the opportunity to list 1st, 2nd & 3rd choices of projects they’d like to work for the following school year. Using these signed contracts, the Parents’ Club Board assigns parents to the fund raisers by random drawing. Parents are then sent a letter informing them of their assignments for the next school year.

Ongoing Fund Raising Activities

Christian Cash Tuition Reduction
This program earns money for your (or someone else’s) tuition account and SCS. Store gift cards can be purchased in the school office to redeem at local & national retailers. Each retailer donates a set percentage back of which SCS Parents’ Club keeps 2% and the rest is applied to your tuition account. Any supporter (parent, grandparent, friend) of SCS can participate in this program and contribute towards tuition. Even parents planning to send their child(ren) to SCS in the future can begin building up a fund now towards tuition! Order forms are on the counter outside of the school office & on our website.

Market Day Food Sales
Orders can be placed monthly using the form sent home from school or online at MarketDay.com. SCS receives a percentage profit from each month’s sales.
