Drama Club is offered to students in 6th - 8th Grade.
Why Drama? What good does drama do for students? What good does drama do for God? These are questions that Dave Payton, The Drama Ministry instructor, seeks to answer. Mr. Payton reports, "Many years ago, actors were part of the lower class of society. That is a strong contrast from today's society-where actors are praised for everything they do on and off stage and screen. Actors today are not outcasts-they are the "in crowd". When you are popular, people tend to be influenced by you-whether you are proclaiming the right way to live or the wrong way does not matter, you influence when you are an actor. That is the ultimate goal of the Drama Ministry Club here at Sheboygan Christian School. Movies and television today are very influential. What I would love to do is offer a contrasting message to the ones that these programs are proclaiming." Parents' reaction has been positive and Mr. Payton's enthusiasm for the Lord is having a positive impact on the student body. Drama Club is offered to students in 5th-8th grade.
