In the Community
Loving and Learning – by Amy Abel
It’s been a great few months working together with the staff and students at SCS, getting out into the community to connect, serve, and love others, and the most incredible part is how God has lead us and continues to lead us in this! We strive to make serving an integral part of learning, and of living, and God is showing us amazing things as we continue to follow Him. Here are the things that we as a school have been able to do as the hands and feet of Christ during the first half of the school year:
Delivered batteries for fire detectors to neighbors (5K)
Presentation from Karen Degner from Military Families Connect
Made cards for service men and women from Sheboygan
Created Christmas cards for Meals on Wheels clients (3rd grade)
Made Thanksgiving napkin holders for dining tables for
Sharon S. Richardson Hospice (4K)
“Celebrations Around the Globe” decorations made by SCS students
were hung up in vacant store front windows in downtown Sheboygan
(3K-8th grade)
Collected food for the Salvation Army -1st grade food drive
Writing letters to Pine Haven residents in an effort to create pen pals
(middle school)
Entrepreneur project-visited local business Olivu (4th grade)
1st, 2nd, & 5th grades made wonderful cards for the Children’s
Hospital in Milwaukee
